A Rose

Here is something I know I do a lot. Maybe the same is true for you. It is something I want to change. Maybe you do too.

I know that I rarely appreciate my journeys. Instead, I just keep thinking about the end result - and get pissed that I'm not there......but how do you get "there" without the journey for Christ's sake? You don't.

We do ourselves a great disservice by judging where we are in comparison to some final destination. We do ourselves a great disservice when we don't appreicate and respect our stages of development, but instead see them as being in the way of what we are striving for. We do ourselves a great disservice thinking we are not right where we need to be.

We must remember that the rose, at each moment of its slow blossoming, is as open as it can be . . . and as beautiful. The same is true of our lives. If you are all that you can be right now, then you are beautiful. When you are ready for more, you will BE more. Until then, enjoY.

You cannot expect to bloom faster or more deeply than is natural. You cannot expect to get to the other side of a mountain, if you are not paying attention to the climb. The climb teaches so much. Don't miss it.

Take time to accept and appreciate your slow unfolding.....and know that if you cannot accept and appreciate this, you weaken yourself. Where you are weak gives way to pain and suffering, even illness. That is not for you.

You are on your path . . . no matter how flawed or incomplete . . . and it is a blossoming path. However much you have done at the end of the day is enough. Every step is part of your truth.

You too will unfold....like the rose.
